I heart my doggy

Me and Annie like to hike the Y every once in a while. Well actually I like to hike the Y and Annie likes to go where ever I go. But I don't think she likes hiking very much. The first time we hiked it i stopped for a second and she just laid on the dirt and decided she was done hiking. It was so cute, so I picked her up and carried her the rest of the way up. And then after that I would just pick her up once I thought she was tired. Well, she's now learned that she has the option of me carrying her so this last time not to long after we started up the hill she turned around for me to carry her. What a spoiled little dog. I carried her most of the way up, and even most of the way down. But its ok she only weighs 5lbs. And I love her. And I don't think I will ever be able to spoil my children the way I spoil her.

Sometimes I imagine myself running and pushing my baby in a jogger. And I know Annie can't keep up when I go on runs, so she is also in the jogger next to my child.

I took this picture when I was doing some ab workouts, after Annie realized I wasn't on the ground to play with her she just sat there and stared at me. Shes so cute!

My 1/2 marathon

So I get "Fitness" magazine in the mail every month. I never read it. It has pretty much the same info in every issue. But one month I glanced at the cover and read "train for a 1/2 marathon in 8 weeks". and I thought, "ok". I thought maybe if I did something like this it would speed up my weight loss (it didn't). So I looked to see if there was a 1/2 marathon in my area close to 8 weeks away. I found one that was exactly 8 weeks away. And my sister in law Stefani said she would do it with me.

This is us after the race

About a couple weeks into the training my right leg started to hurt. I thought if I just ran through the pain it would go away. That's how it used to happen anyway. A couple weeks before the race I ran 10 miles after that it really started hurting. So I went in to get it looked at just to make sure I was still ok to run. They did a bone scan and the dr said it was almost a stress fracture and that I probably should do the 1/2 marathon but I could if I really wanted to. I had already paid for it so I decided to run it. He just told me not to run until then and not to run 8 weeks after. So I pretty much trained 6 weeks had a 2 week break and then ran a 1/2 marathon. I would not recommend this. Also I wouldn't recommend doing something like this if your trying to lose weight. Wait until you get to your goal and then do it. the days that I did my long runs I gained weight. After burning over a thousand calories in my work outs it was really hard not to eat everything in sight. I wear a heart rate monitor that tells me how many calories I burn and during the actual 1/2 marathon I burned 2000 calories. I think I gained a couple lbs that week end.

Before and almost after

Well, a couple of people asked to see pictures of me now. And just so you can see the difference I decided to put in my before picture.

And here is the before. I debated on if I should put this picture up, I'm so disappointed that I ever let myself get this bad. But it is what it is.

And this is me now. I still have about 25 more lbs to go! and when I get there I'll be sure to post more pictures!
